Bangka Belitung Occupies National 5th Position For COVID-19 Vaccination Achievements

BABEL - The Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) Erzaldi Rosman Djohan said, Babel managed to rank the fifth highest nationally in realizing the COVID-19 vaccine. This achievement is due to the increasing knowledge and awareness of the community to carry out vaccinations.

"Currently, the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination in Babel has reached 65 percent of the target number of 1.137.924 people," said Erzaldi Rosman Djohan after the 21st Anniversary Ceremony of the Babylon Islands Province in Belitung, Antara, Monday, November 22.

He said the anniversary of the Babel Islands Province was a momentum for the provincial government to further improve the achievement of universal health coverage (UHC) in all regencies and cities, in order to realize herd immunity for people in such allied countries.

"We are optimizing and increasing the availability of vaccination services that are easily accessible to everyone, so that the vaccination target for this year is completed," he said.

The Deputy Governor of the Babel Islands, Abdul Fatah, targets that by December 2021, Babylon will be able to complete all targeted COVID-19 vaccinations.

"This is the collaboration of all of us, the enthusiasm of all of us in opening a new page after being slumped by COVID-19. We rise, wake up and prepare healthy citizens who are great," he said.

According to him, in optimizing the vaccination of the family-based pick-up system, the Babel Islands Provincial Government will maximize the role of the Tracing and Tracking Task Force. They will monitor every family to villages that have not been vaccinated.

"This tracing and tracking task force will move to monitor family-based vaccinations, so that we will sweep all villages and households," he said.

He added that currently the COVID-19 case is sloping and if this case continues to be suppressed, it will have an impact on people's lives by assuming that COVID-19 is a normal case, no longer a pandemic but an endemic.

"It means, this shows that our handling and healing of COVID-19 is good. Prevention is also possible. However, we still maintain caution and must continue to comply with health protocols," he said.
