JAKARTA - The recent upload of RODA POLITIK's Youtube account caused a stir because it said that there was an Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Unmitigated, in its title, this account mentions the direct appointment of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok replaces Anies Baswedan as Acting Governor of DKI.

“Directly Chosen by Jokowi!! Ahok Officially Becomes PLT Governor of DKI," reads the title of RODA POLITIK as reported by turnbackhoax, Monday, November 22.

Is this true?

The video appears to show the results of an interview with President Joko Widodo discussing the candidate for governor of the capital city. By installing a splashy title, Youtube videos have been watched more than 10 thousand times.

After conducting a search regarding the truth of the claims in the title displayed, it was found that there was an error.

"President Jokowi apparently never appointed Ahok as governor of PLT DKI Jakarta," wrote turnbackhoax.

Although there is mention of Ahok's name as governor, it turns out that the results of this interview are not discussing the PLT Governor of DKI Jakarta, but about the candidate for the head of the new state capital authority.

"For the National Capital Authority Agency, we will immediately sign a presidential regulation where there will be a CEO. So far it has not been decided. It will be decided this week," Jokowi said.

The interview was conducted on March 4, 2020. Jokowi gave 4 names who will occupy the position of head of the authority for the new state capital in Kalimantan. The names are Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Azwar Anas, Bambang Brodjonegoro and Tumiyana.

In the video there is also no official statement from any party regarding the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.
