There Is Romance Behind Burning Houses That Wounded A Family

JAKARTA - The issue of romance seems to be the background for the arson attack on Jalan Purnawarman, East Ciputat, South Tangerang. The burning of this house left a family injured.

Ciputat police chief, Police Commissioner Endy Mahandika said the perpetrator with the initials ST was annoyed with the owner of the house, Herman. The reason is that Herman is still communicating with Sumarni, ST's lover.

"The perpetrator has a relationship with SM (Sumarni) who is the wife of H. But SM and H are about to divorce. This is a confession from the perpetrator," said Endy to reporters, Friday, August 7.

The perpetrators' resentment peaked because Sumarni and Herman's divorce was never realized. In fact, the perpetrator's relationship with Sumarni had been established since four years ago. In fact, the perpetrator also intends to marry her.

The perpetrator continued by the police, threatening to act recklessly if Sumarni did not immediately divorce her husband. In the end, the perpetrator burned Herman's house.

"According to his confession that he (Susanto) was not playing games, arson was carried out in the house," said Endy.

Based on the evidence and examination results, ST was declared a suspect. ST is charged with Article 187 of the Criminal Code concerning deliberate arson and faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.

The house burning incident occurred on Tuesday, August 4 in the morning. One family that becomes the victim is a father, mother and a child.

All three were seriously injured. However, the worst condition experienced by the child was due to burns about 80 percent.

In investigating this case, the police suspected an element of intent. This is because a pair of shorts that smelled of kerosene was found. In the end, Susanto was arrested in Cinere, Depok, West Java, on Thursday, August 6.
