Islamic School Students In Bogor Declare Support For Ganjar Pranowo-Puan Maharani

CIAWI - Dozens of students at Islamic boarding schools in Ciawi, Bogor Regency, West Java, have declared support for Ganjar Pranowo and Puan Maharani to run in the 2024 Presidential Election.

"We accommodate voices at the bottom regarding Ganjar-Puan's support to run as President and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia, that's why we carry out this inaugural declaration, but for that decision, Mrs. Megawati is the head of PDIP," said the General Chairperson of the Ganjar-Puan Front (FGP), Timur Kiemas after the declaration in Ciawi, Bogor, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

The younger brother of Taufik Kiemas said that a similar declaration of the PDI-P (PDIP) politician duet would be carried out by the Regional Leadership Councils (DPD) of other FGP provinces.

The declaration of support for the students was led by the Commander of the West Java FGP DPD, Ustaz Taslim Hidayatullah. After the declaration, according to him, the management and volunteers will take the necessary tactical steps.

"After the declaration, we will take tactical and concrete steps, where we will socialize this presidential-vice presidential candidate pair to religious leaders, community leaders, and other figures in West Java Province," said Ustaz Taslim.

According to him, Ganjar is a student figure from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Puan is a nationalist from his grandfather, Soekarno.

"We declare the pair Ganjar Pranowo and Puan Maharani because it is the aspiration of the grassroots community, the candidates for president and vice president represent religious and nationalists," he said.
