JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno inaugurated the MURI Gallery Revitalization (Indonesian World Record Museum) project in Jakarta with the theme "For Indonesia from Earth Indonesia".

Sandiaga hopes that this revitalization will reintroduce the public about MURI physically through more unique and modern technology, without forgetting the roots of Indonesian culture.

"My appreciation goes to the organizers, namely MURI World Record Museum-Indonesia, as the first and oldest record-keeping institution in Indonesia, which is 31 years old," said Sandiaga when delivering his remarks at the MURI Gallery Jakarta in a written statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

Sandiaga said that the MURI Museum or Gallery can also be used as a tourist destination that provides education and interesting experiences for tourists.

According to Sandiaga, this MURI gallery has implemented the concepts of innovation, adaptation, and collaboration in its development. The innovation is by utilizing digital platforms in the ongoing promotion and development of MURI.

Meanwhile, the adaptation is by continuing to apply health protocols in every activity. This revitalization involves collaboration through collaborative efforts with all elements of academia, business, community, government, and media.

"The revitalization of the MURI Gallery is very inspiring, hopefully with the revitalization of the MURI Gallery it can also spur the enthusiasm of the nation's children to be recorded in MURI records in various fields," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga invited the Indonesian-World Record Museum to renew cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in developing special interest destinations like tourist villages that have their own uniqueness.

"I just visited the Kei Islands and they said they already have the beach with the softest sand in the world. Well, of course, we want to prove it by registering it at MURI," explained Sandiaga.

He also invited young people to visit the MURI Gallery in Jakarta. Because, according to him, tourists have the opportunity to get a lot of information from various fields such as health, technology, industry, and so on.

“For young people to come here, firstly because the place is really cool, and here is also a very instagramable place. There is also a photo booth here that looks like we are getting a MURI record," he said.

The Founder and Chairman of MURI, Jaya Suprana, expressed his gratitude for the visit by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy to the MURI Gallery in Jakarta.

"I had tears in my eyes because I was touched by the visit and time that the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy spent at the MURI Jakarta Gallery," said Jaya.
