JAKARTA - On Friday (25), a resident of East Nusa Tenggara had the heart to kill two of his biological children, YBO (3) and ABD (2) because of economic difficulties. Andreas said this when he was questioned by the police.

"From the results of our investigation, economic motives and difficult necessities of life were the reasons the suspect killed his two children," said Head of the East Flores Police Intelligence Unit, Iptu I Wayan Pasek Sujana, reported by Antara, Kupang, Friday, August 7.

Andreas told investigators that he was determined to kill his two children because his two biological children were unable to support them.

In addition, the suspect also experienced stress after his wife left the country who had migrated abroad, he said.

"The problem at hand is that the perpetrator is determined to kill his two children using the knife that has been prepared," he said.

Sujana explained, previously, in the process of arresting the perpetrator on Wednesday, August 5, the security forces had experienced difficulties because the perpetrator was hiding in a coconut tree for about 12 hours.

The perpetrator refused to come down from the tree so that the security forces assisted by local residents were forced to bring down the coconut tree to secure the perpetrator, he said.

Sujana said that his party had examined a number of witnesses and secured evidence such as the victim's clothes and the knife the suspect used to kill his two children

"We have detained the perpetrator at the East Flores Police to undergo legal proceedings for his actions," he said.
