The Building Collapses, SMAN 96 Students Move To Study At The SMKN 73 Jakarta Building

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Education Office, Nahdiana, said that teaching and learning activities (KBM) at SMA Negeri 96 Jakarta School were still going on despite the incident of the building collapsing.

Nahdiana said that the learning activities of students and teachers of SMAN 96 School have temporarily transferred to Vocational High School 73 Jakarta.

"Teaching and teaching activities at SMA Negeri 96 Jakarta School will continue as usual and will not be disturbed by the incident because currently educators and students are conducting teaching and learning activities at SMK Negeri 73 School", Nahdiana told reporters, Friday, November 19.

Nahdiana said that the DKI Provincial Government is still waiting for the results of the police investigation into the school building's collapse during the renovation.

Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Education Office will evaluate the building and tighten supervision on the construction management of the school building, which is currently undergoing total rehabilitation, so that similar incidents do not happen again.

Nahdiana emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government will provide strict sanctions for those who are considered negligent and must be responsible for the incident after the results of the police investigation are out.

"Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office has carried out a joint review with local officials (e.g. police, sub-district head, village head, RW, and RT) and also from the implementing contractor to take responsibility and immediately make repairs", she said.

For information, the incident of the collapse of part of the SMA Negeri 96 Jakarta School building occurred on Wednesday, November 17 at 13.30 WIB. The incident resulted in 4 injured people, namely construction workers and currently handling Cengkareng Hospital.
