Anies Says Film Can Awaken National Confidence

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan assesses that films produced by the Indonesian film industry can grow the nation's confidence.

This was conveyed by Anies at the opening of the 2021 Jakarta Film Week (JFW) festival which was held on Thursday, November 18 evening at Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta.

"Through the film, the confidence of this nation can be raised," said Anies in the aniesbaswedan Instagram account on Friday, November 19.

Anies also considered that a festival like JFW could bring many benefits, especially for the creative industry in the film world.

One of the benefits is being able to be a part of strengthening the economy. Considering that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the film industry in Indonesia was one of the sectors affected.

"JFW 2021 also opens up new opportunities and opportunities, to work and be part of strengthening the post-pandemic economy, as a form of collaboration that occurs in the film sub-sector," said Anies.

"Hopefully this festival will open up opportunities for all parties, support the creative economy as well. This is because the implementation of these activities is a proof that creativity and real work can still be born in the midst of difficult conditions," he continued.

For information, this international-scale film festival held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office will take place from November 18 to 21, 2021. The film Ranah 3 Warna, directed by Guntur Soeharjanto, is the opening show at JFW 2021.
