JAKARTA - Former President Director of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) Richard Joost Lino alias RJ Lino revealed the story behind his dismissal as president director of the company.

"In the afternoon at 18.00 WIB on December 18, I was still in a meeting when the spokesperson for the KPK on television said that RJ Lino, the President Director of Pelindo II was announced as a suspect in the procurement of 3 'QCC' units. to his office," said RJ Lino while reading the memorandum of defense (pleidoi) at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), as reported by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

In this case, RJ Lino was sentenced to 6 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison because he was found guilty of corruption in the procurement and maintenance of 3 Quayside Container Crane (QCC) units in 2010 at the ports of Panjang (Lampung), Pontianak (West Kalimantan) and Palembang. (South Sumatra).

"It was conveyed to me that Mr. Jokowi, the President of the Republic of Indonesia asked me to resign after being named a KPK suspect. To the Minister I conveyed that please convey to Mr. President I am not willing to resign, I ask to be fired and in my opinion it is very honorable," he added. RJ Lino.

RJ Lino admitted that at that time he told Rini Soemarno that as an eastern Indonesian, if he was guilty and felt ashamed, he would definitely resign.

"I will resign without being asked. In this case, I am not wrong and I performed very well as President Director of Pelindo II. Several times I was selected as the best CEO so for me, I feel honored to be fired," said RJ Lino.

On the attitude of RJ Lino, Rini Soemarno was then called to call President Joko Widodo.

"He (Rini Soemarno) then called Mr. Jokowi in front of me and Mr. Jokowi said Mr. Lino should not be fired, ask for a recommendation from the commissioner for the release of Mr. Lino's duties. For me self-respect and honor are everything in life," added RJ Lino.

RJ Lino was dismissed as President Director of Pelindo II on December 23, 2015. He has served as President Director of Pelindo II since 2009.

"In my life I have never forgotten my mother's message, that self-respect and honor are everything in life," said RJ Lino.

He also admitted that if he was reborn, he would still make the same decision.

"I can't imagine in my life having the opportunity to go through these very special 6.5 years. After being a KPK prisoner they asked me, if you are reborn, what will you do with your life? What do I tell them? I will do the same thing in my life, even though I know I will be a KPK suspect for 5 years, what a life experience," said Lino.

RJ Lino with a little sob also revealed the story of his life who became a suspect until the defendant in the KPK is like a fairy tale that is hard to believe.

"That's my life, what I will tell my grandchildren about is how their grandfather completed their duties, this made me walk with a straight face when I was dismissed as president director," said Lino.

RJ Lino still believes that all the dispositions he made regarding the procurement of 3 QCC were entirely based on the "sense of crisis" at that time.

"The decision was made with the right wisdom at that time. The facts of the trial show that there was no kick back, no bribery, no state losses. The things in this case are only these four official notes. In all this work I give a clear and clear disposition firm so that there are no different interpretations," said Lino.

In this case, RJ Lino was deemed proven to have abused the authority and opportunity in his position by intervening in the procurement and maintenance of 3 QCCs, causing a total loss of 1,997,740.23 US dollars in state finances.

RJ Lino's actions were carried out together with Ferialdy Norlan who served as Director of Operations and Engineering of PT Pelindo II and Weng Yaogen as Chairman of Wuxi Hua Dong Heavy Machinery Science and Technology Group Co. Ltd. (HDHM) China thus enriching HDHM China amounting to 1,997,740,23 US dollars.

According to the public prosecutor (JPU) of the KPK, RJ Lino had deliberately procured 3 units of QCC "twinlift" from the beginning directing them to be given to Wuxi Hua Dong Heavy Machinery Science and Technology Group Co. Ltd. (HDHM), this is not in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of SOEs.

"Everyone is fussing over the 'QCC twinlift' decision, but it is the second best decision in my life that I have given to my country after the 'best decision' to marry my wife 40 years ago," said Lino.
