PEKANBARU - The Public Prosecutor charged the defendants Mahader (48), Marto (1), and M Arafat (52) with life imprisonment because they are believed to be guilty of collecting 31,837 grams of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia for distribution in Indonesia.

"We ask the panel of judges to grant this claim because the actions of the defendants do not support the government's program in eradicating narcotics trafficking," said Attorney General Nugroho at the Class IA Dumai District Court, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

Agung stated that the aggravating reason for the three defendants was because the defendant's actions could damage the young generation, the nation. They are part of the international network of drug trafficking by picking up the illicit goods directly to Malaysia.

The defendants, according to the prosecutor, were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a narcotic crime, regulated and threatened with crime in Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

"We ask the panel of judges to seize evidence to be destroyed, in the form of a white sack containing 30 packs of yellow Chinese tea, narcotics type methamphetamine (methamphetamine) weighing 31,837 grams, and a number of cellphones belonging to the defendant. ," continued Agung.
