The Dean Of FISIP, Riau University Officially Becomes A Suspect Of Harassment Of Students

JAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Riau Police has named the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University (Unri) SH as a suspect in a case of alleged harassment of a student under his guidance.

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Pol Sunarto, in Pekanbaru, confirmed this.

He said investigators had investigated the case. Then set SH as a suspect in the case of harassment of the student he was mentoring.

He said investigators had sent a letter of notification of the start of the investigation to the public prosecutor, so that the case would be completed quickly.

"Investigators immediately summoned SH to be questioned as a suspect," said Sunarto, Thursday, November 18, as reported by Antara.

So far, SH has also been questioned in his status as a witness.

Previously, SH denied that he had abused the student with the initial L at the end of October 2021 in the Dean of FISIP Unri's room.

In fact, SH has also reported the female student who claimed to be harassed, because it was considered to defame her.

Before establishing SH as a suspect, investigators also used a lie detector to strengthen the investigation process.

This case also received widespread attention, because it occurred in the campus of the largest state university in Riau Province.

This case broke out when a video of student initials L claiming to be abused by SH while conducting thesis guidance was widely circulated on social media since November 4, 2021. A few days later, L accompanied by the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) reported his case to the Pekanbaru Police, and now the case is handled by the Riau Police. .
