JAKARTA - The renovation project for the construction of the 96 Jakarta SMA school building on Jalan Jati, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta, has collapsed. As a result of the collapse of the building, four people were injured by falling debris.

Cengkareng Police Chief AKP Endah Pusparini confirmed the collapse of the building project.

"It's true (it collapsed). While it is still being handled," said AKP Endah Pusparini, Wednesday, November 17.

According to AKP Endah, there were a number of school construction project workers who were victims of the collapse of the Jakarta 96 SMA building.

Four of them had to be rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment. While some of the other victims only suffered minor injuries.

"Meanwhile, four people have been taken to the Cengkareng Hospital. Those with minor injuries are still at the TKP (the crime scene) for questioning," he said.

The ruins of the building were immediately evacuated by the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept.

Head of the Operational Section (Kasiop) of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-department, Suket said that the cause of the collapse of the building construction was suspected to be an error in the construction process.

"The four victims named Adi, Ferdi, Purwadi and Miskat are construction workers. They have been taken to the Cengkareng Regional Hospital.
