Aceh Police Examine Dozens Of Witnesses Related To The Burning Of Journalists' Houses

BANDA ACEH - Investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police have examined dozens of witnesses for questioning regarding the burning of journalists' houses in Southeast Aceh Regency.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Ade Harianto, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Winardy, said the burning of the journalist's house occurred on July 30, 2019.

"A total of 17 witnesses have been examined by investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate. Investigators are still working hard to thoroughly investigate the case," said Grand Commissioner Winardy, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

Previously, the house of Asnawi Luwi, a journalist for the Daily Serambi Indonesia newspaper published by Banda Aceh who served in Southeast Aceh Regency, was allegedly burned by an unknown person (OTK).

Grand Commissioner Winardy said investigators were continuing to examine witnesses to uncover the case of a fire that scorched one unit of the journalist's house and one unit of his car.

The Aceh Police expect all parties to respect and respect the legal process being carried out by the police. Investigators are still trying to uncover the perpetrators and the motive for the burning of the house.

Investigators conducted an in-depth re-examination of the witnesses after the case was transferred to and handled by the Regional Police. So, please be patient," said Grand Commissioner Winardy.
