Police Confiscate 2 Firearms Used When Robbing IDR 140 Million From A Clothing Store In East Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The East Aceh Resort Police team, Aceh, confiscated two short-barreled firearms suspected of being used to rob a clothing store with IDR 140 million in cash.

East Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Mahmun Hari Sandy Sinurat, said the firearms were FN and revolvers. The firearms were secured in a house in Seumanah Jaya Village, Ranto Peureulak District, East Aceh Regency.

"The two firearms were secured at the house of a person with the initials MU. The firearms were allegedly used during the robbery of a clothing store in Arul Pinang Village, Peunaron District, East Aceh Regency", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

According to the Police Chief, the two short-barreled firearms, based on the information of the suspect MH, were entrusted to investigators with his friend with the initials MU.

From this information, members of the East Aceh Police Opsnal headed to MU's house. However, when the officers arrived, MU was not at home, he said.

Later, the police searched around the house and found two firearms along with 10 live bullets in a black plastic bag placed in a broken loudspeaker in the yard of the house.

"By securing the two firearms, investigators have secured three firearms with details of two FN and one revolver", said AKBP Mahmun.

The police have arrested four suspected robbers, namely BY alias RR (33), MH (26), RS (34), and ZL (36).

"From the results of the investigator's examination and the confessions of the perpetrators, the perpetrator ZL is suspected to be the mastermind behind the robbery. Investigators continue to develop cases to uncover the case", said AKBP Mahmun.

The perpetrators were charged with multiple layers of Article 1 Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 and Article 365 Paragraph (2) junto Article 480 junto Article 55 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 12 years in prison.

"They were charged with multiple articles because the robbery was carried out using firearms. The threat is death or life imprisonment and 12 years in prison", he said.

The robbery using firearms was allegedly carried out by a gang at a clothing store that is also a bank agent in Arul Pinang Village, Peunarun, East Aceh, Sunday, October 31 evening. As a result, the victim suffered a loss of IDR 140 million. In the action, a perpetrator opened fire at the cashier counter.
