Vice President: Accelerating Vaccination In Aceh Involves Ulama

ACEH BESAR - Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin said to accelerate the realization of vaccination in Aceh, one of which is the involvement of the role of ulama and community leaders.

"One of the discussions in the meeting with a number of Acehnese clerics was related to national issues, including the handling of COVID-19 and the acceleration of vaccination in Aceh with the involvement of clerics," said the Vice President in Aceh Besar, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

The statement was made after holding a meeting with a number of charismatic Acehnese clerics at Dayah Mahyal Ulum Al Aziziyah Aceh Besar, Aceh.

The Vice President explained that the Central Government wants to accelerate vaccination in areas where vaccination is still low, including Aceh.

“The strategy is to accelerate in the regions. We also continue to encourage socialization to be intensified in the community by involving all parties, including ulama and Dayah residents and of course supported by adequate vaccine stocks," said the Vice President.

Ma'ruf Amin said that the socialization was important to raise awareness of the issue of vaccination to all elements, because protecting oneself from the spread of the epidemic is also part of religious teachings.

The Vice President also appealed to all people in Aceh, in particular to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols and completing vaccinations in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Charismatic Acehnese clerics who attended the meeting, including Tgk H Hasanoel Bashry bin H Gadeng, Waled Nuruzzahri and Chairman of the Aceh MPU Tgk Faisal Ali.

During the meeting, the Vice President was accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, A. Halim Iskandar, Secretary of Aceh, Taqwallah.
