Wanting The 2022 Infiltration Well Budget To Be Abolished, PDIP: Many Complaints From The Community

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission D of the DKI Regional House of Representatives from the PDIP faction, Ida Maheasy, asked the DKI Provincial Government to evaluate the budget for the construction of infiltration wells in 2022. In fact, Ida suggested that the budget be abolished.

In the preparation of the Regional Budget for the 2022 budget year, the DKI Provincial Government proposed Rp. 120 billion for the construction of the vertical drainage.

"If I want to reduce or remove it, I agree. I strongly agree that the infiltration well budget should be zeroed, but it turns out that there are still areas that need it for 2022", said Ida at the DKI Regional House of Representatives building, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 15.

Ida said that the construction of infiltration wells at several points confused the community. One of them is the construction near the East Flood Canal or East Flood Canal (BKT). In fact, Ida received complaints directly from residents.

"Every day I get WhatsApp from the community, protests related to it. Many complaints, not from the general public but community leaders also have a lot of complaints, in the end, it's not right and so on", said Ida.

Therefore, Ida asked the DKI Water Resources Service (SDA) to evaluate the use of the infiltration well budget to make it more targeted.

"It shouldn't be next to BKT, right, it's very easy to get there. I ask for an evaluation. I hope SDA does evaluate the infiltration wells that have just been built and that the point is really right or not", she said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Jakarta City Citizens Forum (FAKTA), Azas Tigor Nainggolan, was surprised by the construction of infiltration wells next to BKT. Tigor questioned why DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's subordinates built infiltration wells to accommodate inundation near the river.

"The funny position of the infiltration well is that it was built close to the East Flood Canal (BKT). What's the point of making an infiltration well next to the BKT river, which is so big and long?", said Tigor.

According to Tigor, the DKI Provincial Government does not need to build infiltration wells around the BKT, because the BKT itself is a river that functions as a place to collect and distribute water.

"Indeed, what should have been built in BKT is to build or repair secondary canals to channel water into the BKT river", said Tigor.
