MALANG - Residents in Malang, East Java, were shocked by the discovery of discarded babies. The baby girl was found dead, floating in the Kutuk river, Sukun Village.

The incident was discovered around 6.30 WIB this morning. A witness named Suheri Hermanto was looking for bamboo near the river.

"But when I look at the river, I feel like I see a floating carcass, but I look like a baby and it turns out to be true," he told reporters, Monday, November 15.

After being reported to the officers, the baby's body was immediately evacuated by the Malang City PSC team together with the Malang City Police Criminal Investigation Team.

When found, the condition of the baby was already dead and the umbilical cord was still attached to his navel.

"At first I also saw his head wrapped in crackle," he explained.

Suheri estimated that the baby had just been born and when it was found its skin was still fresh.

"If you look at the skin, it's still fresh, not rotting," he said.

Currently, the baby's body has been evacuated to the RSSA Malang morgue for examination.
