JAKARTA - The Ambon SAR team has officially stopped the search for Rivana Seleky, a five-year-old girl who was swept away by the flood and disappeared at sea in South Buru Regency. Seven days of surgery was held but never found.

"It's been a week since the SAR team from the Namlea SAR Post supported by Polairud Polda Maluku and residents were looking for missing victims in Waeturen Village, Namrole District, South Buru Regency but to no avail," said Head of the Ambon National Search and Rescue Agency's Search and Rescue Office, Maluku Mustari, Saturday November 13th.

In a seven-day operation, the SAR team using rubber boats since 08.00 WIT continued their search efforts by dividing the Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) into two with the hope that on this last day the search for victims would yield results.

"The first SRU consists of the Namlea SAR Post Rescue Team moving to coordinates 3°40 '49.20" S - 126° 16' 33.08" E, a distance of approximately 5 NM, and Heading 136° southeast of LKK," he said.

Meanwhile, the second SRU uses several long boats moving to coordinates 3°41 ' 33.50 S - 126°19' 5.14" E, a distance of less than 7 NM, and Heading 249° southwest of the LKK.

As of Friday (12/11) at 17:00 WIT, the joint SAR team had not found any signs of the victim's presence, so the team decided to end the search and return to Waeturan Village to coordinate with the victim's family.

The results of the coordination during the SAR operation carried out from the first day to the seventh day the victim could not be found so that the SAR Ops was officially stopped or closed.

"All elements of the potential for SAR are returned to their respective units with gratitude," said Mustari.
