JAKARTA - Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman, Komjen Pol Firli Bajuri together with Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, and Central Java Chief of Staff Priyanto discussed strengthening integrity and collaboration in public services in Central Java.

The Chief of the Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Ahmad Luthfi, Central Java, stated that the collaboration between the Regional Police and Forkompinda and stakeholders in Central Java had been very cohesive. Every issue is always discussed at the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompinda) level, including community economic recovery, handling COVID-19, and handling social crises.

Regarding the eradication of corruption, Inspector General Luthfi said his party had compiled preventive measures so that corruption did not occur in the administration of the budget and public services. Including the scope of local government.

"According to the mandate of the National Police Chief, the police must participate in supporting national economic empowerment (PEN). Regarding the role of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Java Police in handling corruption, Lutfhi stated that the Central Java Police and its staff have a strong commitment to eradicate corruption. KPK investigations related to corruption always coordinate with the police and the regional police.

"However, the Ditreskrimsus also has many roles, including handling illegal loans and virtual police", he said.

In handling loans and loans, Ditreskrimsus has a complaint service through the website. The public only needs to come when the police officers clarify.

Meanwhile, the virtual police play a role in educating and assisting the public so that they are not trapped in law violations related to the use of social media.

"We have officers who monitor SARA content, hate speech, and hoaxes on social media. We will remind the perpetrators via email and so on. We even go to them for guidance. So there is prevention and education to the public. Legal action is the last step", said Lutfhi.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, said that coordination is one of the tasks of the KPK in the context of eradicating corruption. Eradication is not only making arrests but also carrying out various efforts so that state officials do not take wrong steps so that criminal acts of corruption arise.

He added that according to Law No. 19 of 2019, the KPK was mandated to carry out several tasks, including prevention so that corruption does not occur, coordinating with agencies authorized to eradicate corruption, and agencies carrying out public services.

Responding to the Police Chief and the Chairman of the KPK, the Governor of Central Java emphasized that each element of Forkompinda had an important role in handling community problems, including corruption.

"I often remind the regents and mayors that there is no intention of corruption. The most important thing is to carry out their duties in a streamlined manner, never to think about deviating", he said.

Prevention of corruption, he continued, requires continuous communication. Each elected regional head automatically is considered to understand the rules. It is a job risk.

Therefore, to avoid budget mismanagement, he continued, regional heads should not hesitate to consult with relevant stakeholders if there are things that are not understood. Including communicating it with the KPK, so that there are no violations that lead to corruption.
