Allegedly Knowing Formula E Corruption, KPK Will Summon PT Jakpro

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) to investigate allegations of corruption related to the holding of the Formula E car racing event in DKI Jakarta.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said a summons to the organizers of this competition was needed to seek information and information during the investigation process.

"I think anyone who is also aware of the entire implementation of Formula E will be summoned and questioned by the investigative team," Ali told reporters on Thursday, November 11.

"In principle, the investigation process is looking for criminal events and that later when looking for these criminal events there will be data collection, information, and information material," he added.

Ali also said that the summons for PT Jakpro would be made to clarify the allegations of corruption.

"So what we are looking for in this investigation is the criminal incident first, whether there is or not. If there is no then it will not be continued. If there is, it will be considered whether the insured person can be found," he said. Previously, the KPK admitted that it was investigating and had examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event. However, it is not detailed who the parties have been summoned and examined.

Most recently, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate Syaefulloh Hidayat and the President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto visited the KPK Red and White Building on Tuesday, November 9.

They came to submit a 600-page document related to the plan to organize Formula E. This was intended to provide support for monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) efforts to the KPK leadership.

The document contains the approval process to the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event.
