DPRD Requests TGUPP Anies' Operational Functions To Be Abolished, Deputy Governor Riza Installs Agency

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria defended the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) of DKI which was criticized by the DPRD. DPRD asked the operational function of TGUPP to be removed.

According to Riza, the presence of TGUPP will help improve the performance of the DKI Provincial Government as long as DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is in charge.

"It is part of the governor's team, the provincial team that helps the leadership to improve performance, acceleration. It's also called the acceleration team, right," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 9.

Moreover, Riza said, the TGUPP apparatus has existed since the previous governor, namely when Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok became governor of DKI.

"I don't think there is an extraordinary problem. We respect the input of suggestions and criticisms from anyone, the community, including friends in the DPRD," said Riza.

"However, it is part of the development acceleration team to assist the governor, assist the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," he added.

Previously, Commission A of the DKI DPRD asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to evaluate the tasks of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) of DKI.

Head of Commission A of DKI DPRD, Mujiyono, said that his party recommended Anies to remove the operational function of TGUPP. This was conveyed in the plenary meeting of the DKI DPRD.

"Commission A recommends an evaluation of the main tasks and authorities of TUGPP by eliminating its operational functions," said Mujiyono at the DKI DPRD building.
