Had No Comments, Anies' Subordinates Admitted That The Bank's Debt Bailed Out Formula E Because It Was Tight But It Was Paid Off

JAKARTA - Head of the Youth and Sports Service (Kadispora) Achmad Firdaus finally opened his voice through a written statement regarding the debt to the bank to pay the Formula E commitment fee. Previously, Firdaus had no comment on this debt.

In his statement, Firdaus confirmed that the DKI Dispora had indeed applied for a debt to Bank DKI to cover the payment of the Formula E commitment fee.

"The payment of term 1 commitment fee of Rp180 billion in October 2019 through a short-term loan from Bank DKI was carried out in accordance with applicable regulations," said Firdaus, Tuesday, November 9.

Firdaus explained that the reason the DKI Provincial Government owes money is because the payment deadline is already tight. The DKI Provincial Government must pay the commitment fee no later than 1 year prior to implementation, namely in 2019.

Then, Firdaus confirmed that the debt had also been paid through the 2019 Budget Change Implementation Document (DPPA).

"The loan has been repaid through the disbursement of the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency's DPPA (Dispora) in December 2019," said Firdaus.

Moreover, he continued, the commitment fee financing, which had used the bank loan bailout, was approved by the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

"The budgeting scheme, starting from planning, discussing with the DKI Jakarta DPRD, to approval to become a Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda), has considered the allocation of each Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD)," he explained.

Previously, there was a power of attorney circulating from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to the Head of the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) to apply for a regional loan to the bank to organize Formula E. The power of attorney was signed on August 21, 2019.

The day after the power of attorney was issued, Dispora DKI submitted a debt to Bank DKI of 10 million pounds or Rp. 180 billion to pay the first term commitment fee.
