LEBAK – Swimming when the waves were high, four tourists from Pondok Gede Bekasi were swept away by the current and drowned at Ciantir Beach, Sawarna Village, Bayah District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province.

"After performing the Fajr prayer, at 06.00 a.m. local time, Akbar, Zulfi, Aspi, and Zikri played to the beach to take pictures. It didn't last long, Akbar played in the water on the beach. Suddenly the two people were dragged by a strong current in front of the area monitoring post. But Akbar kept trying to survive as hard as possible so that Akbar survived being pushed by the waves to the shore, but Zikri continued to be dragged by the current into the middle of the sea and drowned," said Gultom when confirmed, Monday, November 8.

As Gultom explained, personnel from the Banten Police Ditpolairud together with the Lebak Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Bayah Police, and Basarnas tried to save the drowning victim, Zikri.

"Of the four tourists, Akbar (21), Zulfi (20), and Aspi (19) were rescued, while Zikri (21) is still being searched," explained Gultom.
