Motorcycle Thief Specialist In North Jakarta Arrested By Night Patrol Officers

JAKARTA – A motorcycle thief specialist was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police. According to police officers, these two perpetrators have committed a dozen crimes of motor vehicle theft (Curanmor) in North Jakarta.

The two perpetrators with the initials AH (28) and BM (23) were arrested by officers in the Cilincing area recently. North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Guruh Arif Darmawan said the suspect admitted to having stolen a motorbike dozens of times.

"The two suspects have admitted more than 10 times to theft of motorbikes in the jurisdiction of the Cilincing Police", said Kombes Guruh Arif Darmawan to reporters, Friday, October 5.

The arrests of these two suspects, said Guruh, were arrested when the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police was conducting a patrol. Police officers saw and suspected two men riding a motorbike with unusual behavior.

When the two perpetrators wanted to be stopped, both immediately ran away.

"We were chased and we were able to secure it. When searched, the motorcycle seat found 1 letter T key and 2 keys", explained Guruh.

Before long, the two suspects were immediately taken to the Cilincing Police Station for legal processing. Meanwhile, the stolen motorbike was sold for IDR 2.2 million to a dealer with the initials A who is currently at large.

In addition, the police also confiscated 11 units of stolen motorcycles of various brands. The two suspects were charged with Article 363 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 9 years.
