Compared To Thailand, Bali Tourism Board Hopes To Quarantine Foreign Tourists To The Island Of The Gods In Just One Day

DENPASAR - Chairman of the Joint Indonesian Tourism Industry Bali/Bali Tourism Board Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana hopes that the government can reduce the length of quarantine period for foreign tourists visiting the Island of the Gods to just one day.

"We respond favorably to (the policy) from five days of quarantine to three days. However, the benchmark for Bali is Phuket Sandbox, Thailand. Our hope is at least one day," Agung Partha said in Denpasar, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 4.

According to him, the one-day quarantine is especially for foreign tourists who have received the COVID-19 vaccine twice and come from countries that are indeed permitted to enter Indonesia.

"After the PCR at the airport (I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali-ed), which has been vaccinated twice and from a potential country, it can only be quarantined for one day," he said.

Although the "border" for international flights and foreign tourists visiting the province of Bali has been opened since October 14, 2021, he said that until now there have been no foreign tourists who have made hotel reservations, or direct arrivals from abroad through the local airport.

"No one has booked a hotel yet, maybe the 'market' targeted is not right," said Agung Partha.

Regarding the previous information submitted by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, who said that there were 20 thousand foreign tourists who had made hotel reservations for November 2021, he said he did not know where the source of the data submitted by the Governor of Bali came from.

"I don't know his data, not from me," said one of the owners of the Santrian Group.

As for hotels that will be used as temporary quarantine places for foreign tourists who come, so far there are 55 of them spread across the Nusa Dua, Kuta, Sanur and Ubud areas.

"However, the number is still growing very dynamically, once the KKP (Port Health Office) is completed, we will add more later," he said.
