CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, has set a hydrometeorological disaster alert status until May 31, 2022 because based on reports from the BMKG extreme weather will hit most parts of Indonesia, including Cianjur, resulting in natural disasters such as landslides, floods and ground movement.

The head of the Cianjur BPBD, Tedi Artiawan, said that the disaster alert status was determined after his party received a report from the West Java BMKG regarding high rainfall with high intensity until the beginning of the year.

"We have alerted all Disaster Resilient Volunteers (Retana) in each village and sub-district to carry out monitoring and supervision to evacuate residents when a natural disaster occurs. This is because most of the Cianjur area is included in the disaster red zone," he said when contacted by Antara. , Wednesday, November 3rd.

It was recorded that during the last two days, natural disasters such as floods, landslides and landslides hit 8 sub-districts in Cianjur, such as floods and landslides in Sukanagara, Campaka, Campaka Mulya, Takokak, Sindangbarang, Naringgul, Cijati and Sukaluyu sub-districts, where as of Wednesday it was still under development. joint handling.

He explained, based on a study of the potential risk of natural disasters, from a total of 360 villages and sub-districts in Cianjur, 350 of them are at risk of landslides and ground movement, while 302 of them are high risk villages, 13 are at medium risk and 45 are at low risk. from January to September, 79 landslides and landslides were recorded. The most occurred in February with 20 events. This number does not include October, where a number of landslides and landslides occurred due to high rainfall.

"Of the dozens of disasters that occurred, causing 21 houses to be heavily damaged, 38 houses moderately damaged, 36 houses lightly damaged and 280 houses threatened. For natural disasters that occurred during October, data is still being collected, but the number of houses damaged due to landslides and floods reached 100 houses more," he said.

His party appealed to residents throughout the Cianjur area to be alert and prepared for hydrometeorological disasters, especially since the last week, the rainfall was quite high with long intensity, so that there was the potential for natural disasters, ranging from landslides, ground movements and flash floods.
