JAMBI - Jambi Deputy Chief of Police Brigadier General Yudawan said Jambi Province was a drug crossing city between provinces in Sumatra and Java.

According to Yudarwan, this was proven by the success of members of the Jambi Narcotics Directorate in thwarting and arresting three couriers of five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine brought by private car from Riau to Jakarta.

"The Jambi Regional Police succeeded in uncovering a case of distributing five kilograms of methamphetamine from the national network on the border between Jambi City and Muarojambi Regency, precisely on the East Sumatran KM 13 highway where the modus operandi of the perpetrator was to store methamphetamine in a 10 kg bag of rice," said Brigadier General Yudawan, in Jambi reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 2.

Yudawan, who was accompanied by the Director of Narcotics at the Jambi Police, Thomas Panji Susbandaru, said that in this case three people had been named suspects. The evidence of methamphetamine was stored in a plastic bag, then put in a rice sack.

This type of shabu, he said, came from Riau Province and will be circulated to Lampung and Java Island. They used a mini bus with the Toyota Avanza brand with the police number (nopol) BM 1694 OW.

"The first suspect we arrested was LH, after we chased the other two perpetrators who were named and included in the People's Wanted List (DPO), the Jambi Police also managed to secure two other suspects with the initials SN and F in Pekanbaru. From the results of the examination, The perpetrator admitted that he had circulated the illicit goods three times and if possible at least confessed to committing a crime," said Brigadier General Yudiawan. Jambi headed to Lampung.

When they arrived in Jambi, they left the car carrying the methamphetamine in front of the mini market yard because it was suspected that there was a raid so that at that time the police only got five packages of methamphetamine weighing five kg in the car that was left empty by the perpetrators, which the police finally caught.

"We arrested the three suspects and two more DPOs with the initials A and P, so that further we are still developing this case and from the results of thwarting five kg of methamphetamine, if converted, it is worth Rp. 6 billion," said Kombes Thomas Panji.
