Two Years of Vacuum, Adele Reportedly Back to Work on New Album

JAKARTA - Adele is rumored to be back in the recording studio in London. This news surfaced two years after the British singer said she wanted to take a long break from the music world.

As reported by The Mirror, quoted Tuesday, June 23, Adele is said to have spent at least two weeks in London writing and recording new music. He has repeatedly entered and exited the recording session, but has tried not to attract attention.

Adele last released an album in 2021 through 30, which featured the hit Easy On Me. The album tells a lot about her divorce from Simon Konecki.

Now, the London-born singer is said to be returning to the city where she grew up. Those close to her want Adele to soak up the London atmosphere again in her new work.

"Adele has spent at least two weeks in London writing and recording music. She has been in and out of the recording sessions in the past week and will be back again this week, but she keeps a low profile while she's here," a source told The Sun, as quoted by The Mirror.

The source said Adele felt comfortable working at Church Studios, one of the recording studios in London. This studio has been used by a number of big names, including Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Oasis, Mick Jagger, Florence + The Machine, Culture Club, The Streets, Tom Jones, and Jack Penate, Adele's close friend.

"He feels safe at Church Studios and that's where Paul is based, so it makes sense for him to come there for recording sessions, rather than working elsewhere in LA," the source said.

Adele moved to Los Angeles more than a decade ago. However, the source said Adele's London roots remain important.

"Adele has lived in LA for a decade and while she loves it, London is very important to her," the source said.

According to the same source, Adele's closest people believe that the atmosphere of London can give a different color to her new music. Her last album was well received, but was said to be very Hollywood-like.

"People originally loved Adele because she was down to earth and easy to relate to. So, she's trying to bring that back by drawing inspiration from her hometown," the source said.

The speculation about Adele's return to music has been growing after a number of musicians were spotted around the studio location. Justin Vernon, the vocalist of Bon Iver, was seen outside the studio last week. Gracie Abrams is also said to be shooting a music video near the location.

This news is interesting because in 2024 Adele said she had no plans to release new music.

"I have absolutely no plans for new music. I want a big pause after all this and I think I want to do other creative things for a while," Adele told fans during her residency in Las Vegas.
