JAKARTA - Music promoter PT Nada Promotama is facing legal problems. The company, which is in charge of the Now Playing Festival (NPF), was sued for Payment of Debts (PKPU) Delay in the Commercial Court in the Central Jakarta District Court regarding alleged arrears of obligations worth Rp. 3.5 billion.
The lawsuit was filed by their business partner, Doni Nugroho, through his lawyer from AJ Law, Imanuddin Arrahim.
The problem started from the cooperation of operational fund transactions that were established since 2023. Based on the agreement, Nada Promotama should make partial payments every 50 to 60 days to Doni, including the return of principal money.
However, at the end of 2023, this commitment is suspected to have not been realized. Efforts to consult the applicant to Emil Mahyudin as the owner and director of the company also came to a dead end.
"My client has also approached and communicated directly to consult in a good way with PT Nada Promotama, in this case the owner and director is Brother Emil Mahyudin. However, this effort did not produce any results," said Imanuddin to the media, Tuesday, April 7.
Legal steps were taken when the summonses sent twice in the period from January to February did not receive a positive response. Imanuddin said the respondent tended to ignore the substance of the demand for settlement of obligations.
Until the PKPU application was registered, the applicant claimed that there was not a single penny of payment that had entered their client's account. In fact, Nada Promotama is known to still actively holding large activities recently.
"We are very disappointed because on March 14, they still held a big event, namely the 'Now Playing Fest' in Pussenif Bandung. This means that we see this is not a problem of not being able to pay, but it is suspected that they do not want to pay," continued Imanuddin.
Based on the application document, the total bill claimed reached IDR 3,556,944,250. This figure refers to the provisions of Law Number 37 of 2004 concerning Bankruptcy and PKPU as the basis for seeking legal certainty for creditors.
This step was taken not only as a nominal matter, but also as a reminder for the entertainment industry ecosystem to be more vigilant. The applicant stated that he had prepared strong evidence in the form of a letter of agreement and proof of fund transfer to strengthen the lawsuit at the trial.
"This PKPU application was filed as a legal step to obtain certainty for the settlement of payment obligations with a value of billions of rupiah. We hope that this process can provide clarity and legal protection for interested parties," concluded Imanuddin.
