JAKARTA - NCT Ten became the latest group member to complete an exclusive contract with SM Entertainment. His contract will expire on April 8, the same as Mark who was announced last week.

"After slowly discussing the future direction of Ten, we reached an understanding to terminate the exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, effective April 8. In the future, we will continue to communicate to develop opportunities for Ten to participate in WayV and NCT if possible," said SM Entertainment on Monday, April 8.

Even though he left the agency, Ten is confirmed to continue participating as a member of NCT and WayV. Ten himself is one of the first NCT members to debut.

"Throughout his career, Ten brought the artistic side and talent to the group and his solo. We appreciate the time we shared and wish the best," he said.

On the same day, Ten wrote a letter to his fans expressing his gratitude for their support over the past decade.

"It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since my debut with NCT U in 2016! Looking back, every moment I shared with you as a member of NCT. WayV, the SMTOWN family, and the Ten you know, love, and support, have been an amazing journey I remember every trip very much," wrote Ten.

"Ahead of the 10th anniversary, I found myself wanting to develop new challenges, develop various possibilities, and discover new sides of myself. So after discussing with members and staff at SM, I decided to terminate my contract with my company," he said.

In his statement, Ten said SM was his first home, especially as the first Thai artist to debut at the company.

"In the future, I will continue my activities as Ten NCT and Ten WayV. At the same time, I am excited to show a new side of Ten and develop as a solo artist in a new part," he said.

Ten debuted as a member of NCT U in 2016 with Mark, Taeyong, Jaehyun, and Doyoung. Then, he joined the sub-unit WayV and debuted in 2019.

Before Ten, Mark also ended an exclusive contract but left the NCT group as well as NCT 127 and NCT Dream.
