Robbie Williams has officially cemented his position as the king of the UK charts after his latest album, "BRITPOP", topped the UK Albums Chart.

Responding to the achievement, Williams could not hide his happiness. Moreover, a historic moment has occurred, where he managed to surpass the legendary record of The Beatles as an artist with the most number one albums in the UK of all time.

"It's sensational what's happened. I feel like Forrest Gump in the pop world," Williams said, quoted by the BBC, Monday, January 26.

"BRITPOP" itself is Robbie Williams' 16th solo album which managed to reach the top position, surpassing the Beatles' 15 number one albums.

The album was released surprisingly on January 16, after experiencing a delay in release from the original schedule in October 2025.

Throughout his career, Williams has sold around 80 million albums, while The Beatles remain the record-holding group with the highest sales of all time with an estimated 600 million copies.

This success extends Williams' impressive record where almost all of his studio albums have always reached the first position, except for the album "Reality Killed The Video Star" in 2009.

On its way to the top of the charts, "BRITPOP" managed to shift the dominance of Olivia Dean with the album "The Art Of Loving" which has reigned for three weeks, and held the pace of Madison Beer's third album, "Locket", which had to settle for debuting in third place.

Previously, Williams admitted that the ambition to beat the Beatles' record was the biggest target in his current career.

"Let me be clear that I have destroyed the matrix. When such a record is mentioned and it's me, I don't know how it could have happened, I only know that it happened," the 51-year-old singer said.

"Do I deserve it? No. Am I on the verge of possibly achieving it? Yes. Should I grab it with both hands? Yes."

The win puts Robbie Williams at the top of the all-time list, followed by The Beatles (15), The Rolling Stones (14), Taylor Swift (14), Elvis Presley (13), and Madonna and Bruce Springsteen, who each have 12 number one albums.
