JAKARTA - Singer Olivia Rodrigo has been named the youngest solo singer to reach first place on the UK charts for her latest song and album.
Last week, the 18-year-old singer released his debut album, Sour, which music listeners have been waiting for.
A week later, the Official Charts announced the album had reached number one in the UK with Rodrigo's newest song, Good 4 U.
Previously, this achievement was obtained by Ariana Grande where the album Positions and its title track reached number one in 2020.
This week, Sour's album sold over 51,000 copies and became the biggest for a UK debut in two years.
In 2019, Lewis Capaldi also sold his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent at huge numbers.
In addition to the song Good 4 U, several songs from the album Sour also topped the music charts such as Traitor, Deja Vu, and Drivers License, the first song that Rodrigo released.
If totaled as a whole, the album Sour has been listened to 45.7 million during the week and is predicted to continue to increase.
