Inspired by Brat Aesthetics, Katseye Wants to Collaborate More with Charli xcx

JAKARTA - Global girl group Katseye has openly revealed their big ambition to collaborate with British pop star Charli xcx.

The desire arose after Charli participated in writing their hit song, "Gabriela", which managed to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Not without reason. This group from HYBE and Geffen Records calls the singer of "party 4 u" their biggest inspiration at the moment.

One of Katseye's members, Manon Bannerman, stated that Charli xcx has become part of their group's identity. He admitted that he really admired the aesthetic concept of Brat which was popularized by the 33-year-old soloist.

"I just met him, and I think we all really hope to work with him more in the future," Manon said, quoted by Billboard, Monday, January 12.

According to him, Charli has also become a figure who has a big influence on the way they make music.

"She's really a Katseye girl, and we fell in love with Brat and everything about him," Manon said.

"He is an inspiration to us. We don't know what will happen in the future, but we are really very interested in that idea," he continued.

This momentum feels right considering Katseye has just made history by winning their first Grammy nomination in the Best New Artist category.

The group, which also includes Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung, competes with a row of other popular names, such as Addison Rae to Lola Young.

On the other hand, Charli xcx himself is busy with a companion album project for the film adaptation of the classic novel Wuthering Heights by director Emerald Fennell. The film is scheduled to be starred by Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

To date, Charli has released two songs from the project, namely "House" and "Chains of Love".
