JAKARTA - The death of former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno left sadness for families and fans. But behind the loss, there is good news regarding the work that is the late man's last legacy.
A posthumous album from Paul is rumored to be released in 2026. The album is a live session recorded in August 2024 at the Stonedead Festival.
The message was delivered through Paul Di'Anno's official account recently. The recording, which was made two months before Di'Anno's departure, will be presented to listeners at the beginning of next year.
"Dear fans, less than a month ago we announced that the Paul Di'Anno live album would be released in 2026. This album was recorded on his last tour in the UK, more specifically at the Stonedead Festival 2024, two months before his death," the post reads.
"We would like to thank Chris Sumby for giving us the audio file for free and making this album finally released," the statement continued.
For the live session, Paul Di'Anno worked with musicians from Norway. Henrik Haugsnes Kaupang, the drummer involved in this album, revealed how the album is something special for him and the fans later.
"We heard your request and although this album will initially be released only on vinyl, there will be several CD copies for fans and collectors. The copyright and royalties of this album will of course be distributed to Paul's heirs," said Henrik, quoted by Blabbermouth, December 23.
In addition to the last live album, a documentary about Paul Di'Anno's career is also planned to be released next year. Titled Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer, this documentary is directed by Wes Orshoski, who previously directed the documentaries Lemmy Motorhead (2010) and The Damned (2015).
