Erwin Prasetya, Dewa 19's First Bassist, Died

JAKARTA - Dewa 19's first bassist, Erwin Prasetya, passed away on Saturday, May 2. This news was conveyed by Stanley Tulung, observer of Indonesian music to VOI via WhatsApp. It was reported that bleeding in the stomach was the cause of Erwin's death.

Ari Lasso, a soloist who is also a former member of Dewa 19, uploaded this news through his Instagram account. This sad news was written by the former vocalist of the group and includes a photo of Dewa 19 with the initial formation. Suddenly, Ari's musicians and colleagues filled the post with uploads of condolences. Dewa 19 fans also enlivened the post with condolences.

Apart from Ari, other Dewa 19 personnel, Andra Ramadhan also expressed his sadness through a black post with a prayer for his friend.

During his lifetime, Erwin Prasetya had tried out the entertainment industry with the Dewa 19 group that made him big. He built a group with his friends until 1998, when he was on hiatus due to drug use and underwent a rehabilitation process.

Then, he returned to Dewa 19 to work on the album Love Love.
