SBY Visits Yok Koeswoyo Before Holding A Tribute Koes Plus Concert On Pacitan

JAKARTA - The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY, visited the remaining personnel of Koes Plus, Yok Koeswoyo, to discuss the tribute concert for Koes Plus.

The visit was revealed through the Instagram account @koesplus.indonesia, where SBY was seen visiting Yok Koeswoyo at his residence.

In the description of the upload, it was stated that SBY planned to hold a concert titled Tribute to Koes Plus in his hometown in Pacitan, East Java.

Triggered by memories of his high school days in Pacitan, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) finally realized his long wish to meet Yok Koeswoyo," reads the caption of the upload, quoted Friday, November 28.

The concert itself is planned to be held on December 6. The event will involve the sons and daughters of the Koes Plus personnel, including Damon Koeswoyo, Kenny Koeswoyo, Gerry Koeswoyo, and Rico Murry.

SBY revealed that this music event was a form of gratitude and the highest appreciation from him, his family, and colleagues, for the works of Koes Plus which had enriched the realm of Indonesian music.

"SBY plans to bring no less than 33 Koes plus songs," he said.

Long before his career in government, Koes Plus turned out to have had a big influence on the journey of the SBY musical, who claimed to be a big fan of Koes Plus since he was a teenager.

The work of the pioneer band Indonesian pop music is often the soundtrack for SBY's youth, which he often brings when he actively plays bands with high school friends in Pacitan.
