Marsha Lavinia Chooses Pop-Folk Genre As Her Music Identity

JAKARTA - Marsha Lavinia is a young newcomer soloist who is called the Trinity Optima Production music label. So far, she has released two singles, namely Kalungan Rindu in July and Berested in Batin in October.

In collaboration with Will Mara as a producer, Marsha's first two singles contained strong acoustic elements through a guitar clip.

Marsha explained that the color of the music leads to pop-folk, which is decided through a long discussion with the label.

"The music that is in the 'Landing' and 'Clouding in the Batin' is actually like pop-folque, the direction is there, and that's the result of the brainstorm," said Marsha in a virtual interview with VOI, Monday, November 24.

Dara 19 tahun itu menuturkan, pencarian akan genre yang diusung, mempertimbangkan dua aspek, yakni minat pendengar muda dan kenyamanannya dalam membawa genre tersebut.

"So we're trying to find out, what kind of genre do the children like now, and what I'm doing myself is comfortable to sing," said Marsha.

"At that time we finally chose it, okay, I think I just wanted to pop-folk. So, the two colors in the song are similar," he continued.

The pop-folk genre that was carried for the first two singles, said Marsha, wanted to give the impression "simple" to the music she offered. That way, the power of the lyrics and messages brought can be conveyed easily to listeners.

On his way so far, Marsha feels lucky because he is surrounded by a team that is willing to accommodate his aspirations.

When starting the work on a single 'Circumvented In Batin', he asked Will Mara' to be a producer and songwriter to write about a former lover.

"I said that if I wanted to make a song about my ex, who was related, the contents of which were small details, for example there were lyrics where I was still going to the same place as my ex," he said. It's like those memories I want to put in the song, and finally realized it with Kak Will Mara through the lyrics.

Furthermore, Marsha said other works would soon be launched, of course with a pop-folk style like the previous two singles.

"There will still be another single. We won't just stop here. We have also composed the song, the production has been completed, we just have to wait for the release date," concluded Marsha.
