JAKARTA - In the midst of a hiatus period with NOAH, Ariel was announced by Falcon Pictures to play the character Dilan in the film 'Dilan ITB 1997' which is planned to air next year.

This film has been Ariel's second project since NOAH's hiatus period which began in early 2024. Previously, the 44-year-old singer was the voice actor for the JUMBO animated film.

Although he had to focus on acting, Ariel said, the new album that had been planned with NOAH still applies.

"If compared to NOAH's hiatus, maybe this is not the whole time," Ariel told the media crew in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 5.

"NOAH itself has been on vacation for two years. And we really want the last album later, but it's still a long time," he continued.

He added that the schedule with NOAH for the comeback would also not be disrupted by the shooting process for the 1997 film Dilan ITB.

"So, in time it doesn't really bother you, it doesn't interfere with NOAH's schedule. No. Not at all," he said.

Ariel himself has tasted the world of acting through the film The Leader (2009) directed by Riri Riza. After 16 years, he also ventured to return to the big screen.

He admitted that the film 'Dilan ITB 1997' was not the only offer. Previously, there were several production houses that invited him to return to acting. However, the choice fell on the film based on the novel by Pidi Baiq.

"There are several offers (to play movies), when I was on vacation (NOAH), but no one has yet," he said.

"When I'm on vacation, I really want to try another life, apart from being a musician. And the art of this role is quite close too," he concluded.
