Halsey Nags Audience During Boston Concert: "I Almost Died to Be on This Stage"

JAKARTA - Halsey vented her frustration at an audience member who shouted insults at her during her second concert at MGM Music Hall in Boston, USA, on Monday, November 3rd local time.

As is known, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter had performed at MGM Music Hall the day before. However, she was subsequently taken to the Emergency Room (ER) after undergoing emergency treatment.

The incident with the audience member occurred while Halsey was on stage addressing the crowd.

Then, a male audience member bluntly shouted, "Stop talking and play!" The rude protest immediately sparked a strong reaction from Halsey.

"You think you're great because you're from Boston? I'm from Jersey. I'm going to kick your ass," Halsey retorted without hesitation, as quoted by NME, Wednesday, November 5th.

"My dad's from Boston, my mom's from Jersey—that basically makes me the devil," she continued.

Continuing her outburst, the "Without Me" singer reiterated her position. "I'm going to play whatever I want," she said.

"If you didn't hear me correctly, I almost died to be on this stage. I'm going to play whatever I want," she added.

Halsey's anger was justified. She had just been in critical condition. Previously, Halsey announced on Instagram that she had experienced a minor medical emergency after her first show in Boston. She even had to stay in the hospital until 6 a.m.

"I'm fine now and ready to rock tonight!" she wrote before her second performance, ensuring the show would go on.

While it's unclear what caused her to be rushed to the ER, it's known that Halsey has been undergoing chemotherapy since being diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022.

Additionally, in September 2024, she was also rushed to hospitalized again after experiencing a seizure she described as terrifying.

After the second night of her concert at MGM Music Hall in Boston, Halsey again voiced her frustration with the crowd on Platform X.

"I've been polite, but I'm not going to let a man tell me what I should play in my set... There's always that one," she wrote, reiterating her resistance to the crowd trying to dictate her.

Despite her challenging health, Halsey continues to work and is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album, "Back To Badlands," with a tour that kicked off last month.
