JAKARTA - The Up Shields this year celebrates the journey of his 24-year-old career. A long journey from the Antahberantah era to Sembarat Silang Warna, from a small stage in Cikini to across cities and generations.

After the anniversary on October 5, Jimi Multhazam et al chose a simple but meaningful way to celebrate, namely by re-released their musical work, Satellite.

Jimi saw that the 2025 version of the Satellite song was not just a recycle song, but a personal marker of the point of change in the way he wrote the lyrics. For him, writing a song like a theater on the head, from compiling scenes, forming space, presenting narratives, and a sense of cinematic.

From there he felt he was entering a new chapter as a writer, and the Satellite became a symbol of that phase.

"The satellite is a point for me, the achievement of the lyrics is the most meaningful," said the vocalist of The Up Shields in a written statement, October 17.

This song first aired in 2006 on Energy's album. He became one of the anthems at the top of the euphoria of disco and new wave.

After nearly two decades had passed, the Satellite came back with different breaths. It was Rian Ajhi, drummer for The Up Shields, who revived it in the form of modern pulsed electronic dance songs with analog texture processing.

Futuristik, tapi masih punya jejak nostalgia," lanjutnya.

It doesn't stop there, The Up Shields have also prepared a 'satellite' in another version, namely acoustics with chamber nuances. They call it Satellite (V.2). This version started with Jimi's game in the studio, which was later developed by the keyboardist, Gabby Miranda. He created a new space in the old song, making it more intimate and melancholic without losing his original character.

The Up Shields also paid special attention to visual matters. They released satellite music videos based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Worked on by Caezz (AI Artist) and Ricky Malau (Story), this video represents the interpretation of the song visually.

"AI is like a tool for realizing things that used to only be in the head. We want dramatic results and can provoke interpretations," said Kubil Idris, guitarist. Maybe not everyone will immediately understand, but that's where it's interesting; this video opens a new interpretation space about how we see the music of The Up Shields today.

Behind this release, a number of names also formed the details of the production. Rian Ajhi worked on remixing and arrangement, the bassist Haryo Widi also handled mixing, while Moko Aguswan was responsible for mastering. From the artwork side, there is the name of the artist Aliefya Stann who is responsible for working on the cover of this release.

The song Satellite can be heard on various digital streaming platforms, while the music video will be available on The Up Howells' official YouTube channel on Thursday, October 23, 2025. For the second version, the Satellite (V.2), will soon be available on the digital streaming platform in the near future.
