JAKARTA - Apple plans to officially provide high-resolution song streaming support called lossless. Later, the service can be used on various devices including Android.

Support for the streaming music player will be announced along with Apple's latest event in the near future and the launch of AirPods 3.

Quoting 9to5mac, Monday May 17, the Cupertino, United States (US) giant will announce a lossless streming presence in Apple Music beta. Interestingly, Android users will also get the same support.

Listening to music in a lossless format is quite easy, but users will need more data when compared to regular formats. 36 MB is required for lossless quality songs at 24-bit/48 kHz at 3 minutes.

Furthermore, for higher quality streaming, users will spend 145 MB on 24-bit/48 kHz high lossless songs with a duration of 3 minutes. While the song with the usual standard, only spends 1.5 MB with a duration of 3 minutes.

Unknown, the lossless format is now a fairly popular feature of other music streaming services such as Deezer and Tidal. Spotify is also gearing up to launch a higher level of quality.

Typically, these third-party services offer lossless plans as a more expensive premium option. However, a report indicates Apple Music will offer lossless services at no additional cost.

However, apple features still have no confirmation from the company when users can enjoy the service.
