JAKARTA - The world's pop diva, Mariah Carey, seems to be preparing to share her hidden grunge album. The project, which is a representative of the rebel side, is rumored to be released soon.

The existence of the album has been known to the public since 2020, precisely when Carey released her memoir, 'The Making Of Mariah Carey'.

In the book, the diva reveals that he had worked on a music project far from his glamorous pop image in the 1990s.

The album, which was recorded around 1995, was titled Soone''s University Daughter and co-worked with a band called Chick.

Except for some short footage that was uploaded on YouTube, the album has never been heard in full. However, Carey has hinted at the desire to release it in 2022.

In 2024, he revived fans' hopes when speaking with Matt Rogers and Bowen Who on the Las Culturalistas podcast, stated that he felt very angry because he had not released the album until now.

Now, plans to find and share the footage seem to still be the main agenda in the diva's mind. Not long ago, Carey had time to talk about the album with SZA, he even described the album cover and mentioned one song on the tracklist that was thought to be titled "Hermit".

After that, he also appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show and stated that he had found out the required requirements for the album to be released. To Fallon, Carey admitted that it was she who wrote lipstick graffiti on the album's cover.
