JAKARTA - Yogyakarta's rock unit, Zima, introduces her latest work, Young and Useless', as a soundtrack for the film Rest Area produced by Mahakarya Pictures.

This song was performed by Momo (guitar, vocals), Zuhdil (guitar), Ismeth (keyboards), Agibb Tanjung (bass), and Andi Babon (drums) by highlighting the dark faces of social injustice that often occur around us.

The spirit of this song is closely combined with the Rest Area' narration, which tells the story of five wealthy young people trapped in a remote rest area and having to face a crack ghost 'symbol of revenge from the land that was seized for the sake of development.

This song was chosen to be a compound emotional pulse with a horror story that skinned the arbitrariness of the ruling people against the weak in director Aditya Testarossa's film.

"For us, Young and Helpless is not just a song, but an expression of anger. And we think the Rest Area is the right medium to bring together this song with a story that has a similar spirit," Momo said in his statement, Wednesday, September 3.

Aditya explained that the Young and Unuseful soundtrack was presented not only as an accompaniment of the film, but also as an extension of the message from the film itself.

If the "Rest Area" presents terror through the figure of a secret ghost and the dark revenge of the past, Zima translates it into harsh music, striking lyrics, and explosive energy.

Zima's music gives another dimension to the Rest Area. The song Young and Unusable captures the anger of this story, but also gives a voice to those who have not been heard so far. So, this film and song complement each other, "said Aditya Testarossa.

With this collaboration, the films Rest Area' and Zima are both trying to present a bold work: horror that is not only scary, but also disturbing awareness, as well as music that is not only pleasing to the ear, but also disturbing conscience.
