Highlighting Social Issues, Driver By Animals Shouts Loudly Through MASAHITAM

JAKARTA - Driver By Animals introduced a new formation with Ibnuthd (lead guitar), Febri (bass), Vely (drums), and of course Bhusdeq (guitar, vocals). They plan to release their new songs one by one followed by their first album on October 17th.

In total there will be 11 songs that will express various ideas and concerns on this album. Initiated by Bhusdeq, the guitarist for DRIVE, this project is indeed more progressive in terms of arrangement and vocals in raising social issues.

Previously they had released two singles, "All May Become President" in 2021 and "Diorama (Second Period End)" in 2024. Now they present a new track entitled MASAHITAM (Death Suspicion of Life Unable).

This song by Bhusdeq is the fastest tempo song on the album and will occupy the 2nd track on the album later.

MaSaHiTam is a dark reality around us, especially experienced by the Indonesian people who live on the poverty line and are forgotten by the government. Not enough just poor, other problems are looming.

Meanwhile, the representatives of the people who should represent the aspirations of the people's voices, do not seem to see the reality in society, are busy fighting and sharing power to enrich themselves.

This song was inspired when I saw people making a living on the road or at the red light. Wearing superhero costumes, some become silver people, begging and dancing on the road. This happens because of the condition of those who may be unemployed, poor and no longer know what work they want to do, even though they need money to eat every day," explained Bhusdeq in a written broadcast, August 29.

"Not to mention among the poverty, there are dark facts that tease them to get quick money such as gambling, online loans and selling organs. Including the suicide cases, the impact of not having a solution to the life problems they face. These facts are what I put in the lyrics in this song," he added.

The loud music and lyrics of what was presented by Driven By Animals, it feels right to describe the worrying conditions of our country today.

This song is not here to offend, but to talk about facts in the community. Apart from Driven By Animals, many musicians have spoken through their music. Hopefully, our work can touch the hearts of good people who still care about the outside," said Bhusdeq.

Driven By Animals is a project for the band that Bhusdeq initiated and run, beyond his busy schedule with DRIVE. The band has actually been around since 2011, born of Bhusdeq's desire to explore his musical abilities with songs that are more 'complicable' than the songs he made with DRIVE.

But over time, Driven By Animals changed the concept of appearance and personnel. Musically, Driven By Animals is actually a Processive-Rock band with lyrics to social issues and reveals the facts of the life of Indonesians in general.
