JAKARTA - Mirabeth Sonia became one of hundreds of musicians who attended the joint training session of Sabang Merauke - The Indonesian Broadway at Grand Ballroom - Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 3.
Even though she had been involved in the Sabang Merauke Performance, Mirabet was still enthusiastic about organizing this year, which she said had a larger scale.
Maribeth had her own reasons when she decided to be involved again at the Sabang Merauke Performance. The 33-year-old singer admits that she continues to learn new things every time she processes every year.
"Here, in addition to the way I express my love for Indonesia, I also learn a lot. There is satisfaction. Every year you can continue to learn new things," said Maribeth, met on the sidelines of a training session.
As this performance featured various arts and cultural values of the archipelago, Maribeth admitted that her insight as an artist was getting wider.
"I'm the background of the Dayak tribe, I might just know Dayak. From the Sabang Merauke Performance, I became aware of other cultures. Last year I learned lessons about Minang, and there are so many cultures that I just found out from the Sabang Merauke Performance," he added.
Furthermore, regarding the Sabang Merauke - The Indonesian Broadway performance, which this year has the theme Hikayat Nusantara, Maribeth believes this show is worth watching by those who have watched or have not had the opportunity in previous years.
"From the audience side, those who have watched or haven't been able to see if the stage set is really magnificent. The costume is more grand because it involves Jember Fashion Carnaval and Pesona Gondanglegi," said Maribeth.
"The animals involved are also more and more magnificent. Later I will definitely change costumes. So far I have fit three costumes, and I don't know whether to add more or not," he added.
