JAKARTA - A singing talent search event, the National Children's Song Festival (FNAN), is present as a platform for vocal competition as well as an incubation room for young talents who have the potential to become Ambassadors to the State Children.
Initiated by Pay Burman, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, and Tatang Wahyudi, FNAN is an effort to answer the challenge of globalization with such a massive foreign influence that Indonesia's young generation is faced with defending its national identity and love for the nation's culture.
Music is considered a powerful tool to answer these challenges. The reason is, music has proven effective in conveying encouraging nationalism messages.
Because FNAN is not just an ordinary talent search event, Pay Burman said, participants are also required to have a strong personality.
"They are not only required to appear with the best voice, but also to be formed as individuals with character, creative, disciplined, professional, and have a strong spirit of nationalism and Indonesianism," said Pay Burman in his statement, Monday, July 14.
FNAN carries a unique and strategic concept of competition in building nationalism characters among the younger generation. The songs that will be performed by the participants are rearrangements of national and regional songs, as well as national-themed songs that are packaged modernly but still touch the roots of Indonesian culture.
The participants will go through a rigorous selection process, with a professional jury from musicians, singers, producers, motivators, influencers, digital creators, choreographers, and cultural observers.
FNAN does not only focus on vocal and artistic performances. The participants were also provided with a comprehensive National Insight in collaboration with the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
"This is a tangible manifestation of FNAN's holistic approach in forming a young generation that excels in art and is strong in national values," said Pay Burman.
As part of the 2025 FNAN event, a theme song titled Child of State will be released. This song was performed by Dul Jaelani and Shanna Shannon, who were also asked to be the inaugural icon of the National Children's Song Festival.
