JAKARTA - Indonesia's indie rock music icon, Sajama Cut, announced the launch of their latest album entitled Cowabunga, which was officially on July 11, 2025 on all digital streaming channels. This album is the work of the 6th studio of the legendary band from Jakarta which has colored the country's independent music landscape since the early 2000s.

Cowabunga contains 9 songs, and is thematically focused on the struggle to survive in a world that is getting tougher and filled with injustice and human beings in bad faith. Even so, instead of giving up on darkness, the lyrics in this album always leave room for hope. As conveyed by leader band and lead vocalist Marcel Thee, This is the most nature' album that we have written lyrically. The music is a super Saiyan version, aka founded, from our previous album Godsigma an album that is so connected with many Cults (as it is called for Sajama Cut fans).

The title Cowabunga itself is taken from a term popular among California surfers in the 1980s, used to burn enthusiasm when facing big waves. The flower represents the effort of all of us in life to hit the waves of life, "explained Marcel.

The album was released following the success of two early singles that had already stolen the attention: Homily/Looking at God's Face and In the Future we No Longer Dream. Both received very positive responses from listeners and music observers, and made Cowabunga one of the most anticipated albums of the year. As part of the album campaign, Sajama Cut introduced the concept of the Universe's Cowa Bunga six animated characters, each representing one album in their discography. Each character brings the passion and distinctive nuances of the album: from young and melancholic Apologi, romantic Osaka, an optimistic manimal, a boisterous and mature Hobgoblin, a fourist Godsigma, to a pragmatic and humanist Cowaflower in looking at the reality of life.

These characters were introduced through single artwork, lyric video, to official merchandise. In the future, the Cowabunga Universe will develop through social media content, visual material, and the stage concept of Sajama Cut which will invite Cult (as their loyal fans) to re-travel the musical journey of this band from the beginning to the present.

The upcoming tour is also designed as the full celebration of the entire discography of Sajama Cut - playing popular songs as well as rare numbers from each of their eras.

As usual, Sajama Cut again presents the strength of lyrics and the naming of songs that are typical of humane, full of emotional nuances, and puitik in touching nudity. The complete tracklist is as follows:
