BRI Jazz Gunung Series On Bromo Comes In Two Series, Longer And More Inclusive

JAKARTA - Different from the previous years, Mount Bromo Jazz which is entering its 17th event, as part of the BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2025, will be present in two series, with a longer time span.

Held at the Java Resort Bromo Amphitheater, Probolinggo, the first series will take place on Saturday, July 19. Meanwhile, the second series will take place the following week, Saturday, July 26.

In the first series, the line-up from within the country that will appear is Emptyyy, Jamie Aditya, Kua Etnika, RAN, and Karimata. In addition, Chagall, a female musician from the Netherlands, also performed electronic music.

As for the second series, domestic line-ups that will appear are Monita Tahalea, Tohpati Ethnomission, Bintang Indrianto, Lorjhu, Natasya Elvira, and Sal Priadi. In addition, there are also musicians from France, Rogue.

Dewa Budjana and Bintang Indrianto, who are curators, said that the line-up selection also involved discussions with Sigit Pramono as Founder and Bagas Kandiatmono as CEO of Mount Indonesia Jazz.

"Of course the selection of existing musicians, the line-up, we both ( THINK), not just me and Bintang. Yes, of course, in every event there are legends, we must continue to feature young musicians too," said Dewa Budjana at a press conference in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 3.

With a long distance between the first and second series, Sigit said, one of the reasons was because of the high interest in each event. Because tickets sold are quite limited, his party tries to accommodate as many people as possible to be able to attend and enjoy the beauty of the mix of jazz and beautiful nature.

"If we, if the ticket has run out, then that's it. That's why we tried it twice on Saturday, because it was to spread, so that people could come too," said Sigit.

In addition, those present also have the option to stay for a week at Bromo, considering that other activities have also been prepared in between the two show series.

"We have several activities, such as a fine arts exhibition, then there is also the UMKN Market, and there is also a Bromo Jazz Camp. So, the week is full of activities. We hope that people around Bromo can still (come)," added Sigit.

The Bromo Jazz Camp program itself will be the main home of the clock-session, which takes place at Bromo Rehat. The program will run on June 20 - 25.

"Jazz Camp This is a great idea. This is a new thing for a festival, and from there we can see extraordinary talents," said Budjana.

With a new concept that continues to be developed, as Andy Noya as the Advisor for Mount Indonesia Jazz, this event proves that jazz as a musical culture can reach everyone.
