Billy Joel's Latest Health Condition After Canceling The Concert Until Next Year

Billy Joel canceled dozens of concerts scheduled for June this year until July 2026, after being diagnosed with brain disorders called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).

The announcement, which was made last May, raises several questions about how severe the 76-year-old singer's illness was.

Regarding Joel's latest condition, Howard Stern, via his SiriusXM radio broadcast, The Howard Stern Radio Show, admitted that he had met the Uptown Girl singer.

"I met Billy Joel two weeks ago, we had dinner together," Stern said in a broadcast, quoted by NME, Thursday, June 5.

"He's fine. He did have a problem, but he said, 'Yeah, you can tell people: I'm not going to die'. You know, he wants people to know that," Stern said.

Continuing what was discussed in his meeting with Joel, Stern said the atmosphere of the dinner was warm.

"He just... he has to deal with some medical stuff, but it's fun. We had fun with the wives, we chatted fun. I told him I love playing classical music with guitar. He's very happy, because that's what he likes," he said.

Stern added, "Then, it was his birthday (May 9), I even took out my guitar and sang Happy Birthday to him."

Previously, Billy Joel's daughter, Alexa Ray, said that her father was fully committed to recovering fully with continued physical therapy treatment.

In addition, Joel's wife, Alexisdarick, expressed hope that her husband could recover as soon as possible and return to meet fans.

"We are very grateful for the extraordinary treatment and the rapid diagnosis we received," saiddarick. "Bill is loved by many people, and for us, he is the father and husband who are the center of our world."
