JAKARTA - Singers of the song Irianti Erningpraja died at the age of 59 years. He breathed his last at Pasar Rebo Hospital, East Jakarta on Tuesday, May 27 at 14:14 WIB.

Irianti's husband, Peco Seno, said that his late wife was diagnosed with cancer in the middle of last year.

"From the first symptoms or detected symptoms in mid-2024, it means more than a year," Peco Seno told the media crew at the funeral home in Pejaten, South Jakarta, Tuesday night.

"September (2024) is a biopsy and so on, meaning that until now the total is eight months," he continued.

Since then, said Peco, Irianti has been intensely going in and out of the hospital for treatment.

"Then, it has been in and out of the hospital intensely since October last year. There was something wrong with it, moving around the hospital, so that's how it is," he said.

Peco continued, his wife was taken home, but a few hours before he died, his condition worsened and was taken back to the hospital.

"Yesterday afternoon we were out of the hospital, asking to go home, but early in the morning it turned out that we couldn't be strong anymore, we immediately took him to the ER, now this afternoon at 14:14 (died)," continued Peco.

After being buried at the funeral home, Irianti Erningpraja's body will be buried at Jeruk Purut Cemetery, South Jakarta, this afternoon.

For information, Irianti Erningpraja was born in Jakarta on November 18, 1965. She is the daughter of Raden Maria Erningpraja, Minister of Labor (Tenaga Kerja) during President Soekarno's administration.

From an early age, Irianti showed talent in swimming. He started competing and won various medals in national and international championships.

However, his swimming career was stopped due to sinusitis when he was in junior high school. Furthermore, Irianti joined the dance group Swara Maharddhika led by Guruh Soekarnoputra, where she appeared as a professional dancer at various performances, both at home and abroad.

In 1983, Itianti began writing songs and won the National Pop Song Festival with songs sung by Vina Panduwinata. Since then, he has been active as a songwriter and singer, working with various well-known musicians such as Vina Panduwinata, Titi DJ, and Indra Lesmana.
